February 14th - Flirty and Fun

February 14th - Flirty and Fun
February 14th - Flirty and Fun by Jones for Fashion on Polyvore.com

With Valentine's Day just around the corner and dinner reservations set, I need to figure out what I'm wearing! What look will you go for? Flirty, sexy, or romantic?

New Found Love- The Maxi Dress

{Set created on Polyvore}

I have always loved how the maxi dress can be turned from day to night and worn during any season. That is why I have recently added a maxi dress to my closet. I can wear it with boots and a fur coat during those cold Winter months or with sandals and a fun head scarf under the hot sun.

Below are a few of the ways I can style my new maxi...
Add a belt to cinch the waist and break up the color.
Dress: Plenty by Tracy Reese - Anthropologie - Another maxi I love sold here
Belt: J.Crew

A scarf can also break up the color and add texture to any outfit.
Scarf: Anthropologie

Going out to dinner? Throw on a cropped blazer and fun long necklace.
Blazer: Anthropologie- similar coat found here

Love the texture of the faux fur. It also adds warmth so that you can wear your maxi in the Fall or Winter.
Faux fur vest: Rachel Zoe for QVC. Check it out here

Adding height in the shoe will help you look taller and keep the fabric from drowning you if you are not a 6ft model.

Booties: Seychelles - Purchased at Miss Meers or you can purchase them here

Below is a set I created at Polyvore.com to show how you can wear the maxi for day or night. Click on the image to find where to buy all the fun goodies on display. xo Devany

Bon Voyage Pt. 4 - Athens & Santorini

Stop #6 - Athens, Greece

The architecture was truly magical! Love myself some chicken souvlaki and gyros, mm mmm mmm!

Theater of Dionysus

Stop # 7 - Santorini, Greece

We took a ferry ride to the island of Santorini well before the crack of dawn. The tourist season there was just ending so we were excited that it wouldn't be too crowded, but we did not know that many of the businesses would be closed... Overall, we got to see and experience everything that we had hoped and dreamed and were lucky for the most part with the weather (considering it was well into October).

Parissa- black sand beach

The pirate ship we took on the tour of the valcano and Oia

We chose to ride donkeys to the top of Oia to watch the sunset. I do not regret my decision, however it was somewhat frightening in the moment.

We stopped at a little cafe to get wine while we watched the sunset

Cuisin' down the un-named streets of Santorini

Chicken Souvlaki! Another great dish I had was called Mousakka.

Bon Voyage Pt. 3- Florence & Rome

Stop #4- Florence, Italy

Our good friend Aaron attends culinary school in Florence (livin' the life, right?!), so we stayed at his place which was delight! It was so nice not to have to share a hostel room with strangers or worry about bed bugs (yes, they DO exist!). Thank you again, Aaron!

What inspired me: The architecture and overall scenery

Stop #5 - Cinque Terre, Italy

Hands down, the most adorable town (5 towns, actually) that we visited. We hiked the trail from town to town and took in the beautiful colors of the cliffside houses and the sunset.

What inspired me: The colors in the houses and the natural beauty of the surroundings. Cinque Terre also has a romantic history with Via D'ell Amore being a section of the trail where couples lock away their love forever by carving their names in a padlock and throwing the key off the cliff.

View from hiking the blue trail

Charlotte and I sitting at Vie d'ell Amore. So many padlocks! So much love!

The largest padlock I have ever seen. It translates from Italian to 'It was the year 1959, united in life and beyond. Franco and Rosanna. Valentines day 2008'. Probably the cutest thing I have ever seen! This old couple had been married for about 50 years when they did this! Nothing tugs at my heartstrings like two old people in love...

The cliffside houses painted in pastel colors. LOVE.

Stop #6 - Rome, Italy

To be honest, Rome was not my favorite city to visit. Maybe it was because of how dirty and crowded it was, or maybe it was the lovely pigeon poo that graced our presence. This does not diminish however, the beauty nor the importance in history of what Rome has to offer.

Trevi Fountain

Love the color of the rust on the door

The Colosseum

Bon Voyage Pt. 2- Barcelona & Seville

Stop #2 on our European adventure - Barcelona, Spain

View of Barcelona from the top of Park Guell

View from our Hostel window
Mellow Eco Hostel

My travel partner and friend, Charlotte

Chanel - Chewbacca inspired snow suit???

Stop #3- Seville, Spain
While we were only there for 2 days, we saw everything Seville had to offer. We struggled to find good food here, maybe because we were located in such a touristy area. I can't forget the meal we had that was accompanied by a pudding cup for dessert. Not quite what I consider authentic Spanish cuisine.

Picasso Backpackers Hostel- The sewage problems and dead cockroach I found on the stairs keep me from rating it a 5 star resort...

Bullfighting arena- no, we did not watch an actual Bullfight

Alcazar- Photograph courtesy of our adorable, passionate tour guide.

Chillin' in Paradise

Bon Voyage

Hey all! This is my first blog post EVER! I thought I would start out with pics from my recent trip to Europe, as it was truly an inspiring and beautiful experience..

First stop, Paris...

The Eiffel Tower-what a muse!

Un cafe
I love how the French sit for hours and really enjoying their coffee (at all hours of the day). I didn't see a single person with a to-go cup the whole time I was there!

  • Scarf- Anthropologie

  • O.P.I. nail polish in 'Suzi Says Da!'
